Build a Natural Aquascape with ADA Amazonia Soil V2

Planning a planted aquarium starts with choosing the right substrate. ADA Amazonia Soil V2 is the commonly used name for ADA Aqua Soil – Amazonia Ver.2, a natural black soil substrate developed for Nature Aquarium layouts. Its dark appearance creates an attractive base for aquatic plants, stones, and driftwood, helping you build a balanced underwater landscape.

This substrate is designed to support planted aquarium setups. Unlike ordinary decorative gravel, it is made from natural soil and is supplied with Amazonia Supplement to enrich the substrate with nutrients. The combination is intended to help aquatic plants establish and grow in a carefully planned aquarium environment.

Why Choose ADA Amazonia Soil V2?

ADA Amazonia Ver.2 uses natural black soil and includes a separate nutrient supplement. According to ADA, the supplement provides additional nutrients, including nitrogen, to help improve the substrate environment for aquatic plants. The soil can also influence water conditions toward those suitable for many aquatic plants and tropical fish.

These characteristics make it worth considering for plant-focused aquariums, nature-style aquascapes, and layouts where a dark substrate complements green, red, or other colourful aquatic foliage. Actual plant growth depends on the plant species, lighting, water quality, filtration, and maintenance routine.

ADA Aquarium Soil for Aquascaping

A good aquascape combines substrate, plants, and hardscape materials in a well-planned layout. ADA Amazonia Soil V2 provides the soil layer for arranging rooted plants and creating a natural-looking aquarium floor.

You can shape the substrate to create depth, build a slope toward the back, or establish planting zones around stones and driftwood. Plan your layout and substrate quantity according to your aquarium dimensions before filling the tank.

ADA Amazonia V2 Soil Setup Guide

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions when preparing the aquarium. ADA advises spreading the Amazonia Supplement evenly across the aquarium base and covering it with Amazonia Ver.2 soil. Avoid washing the soil before use, because rinsing can cause the granules to break down and make the water cloudy.

When filling the aquarium, pour water gently over a plate or similar surface to reduce disturbance. If the water becomes significantly cloudy after setup, follow ADA’s guidance for water changes and filtration. Check the official instructions for the correct supplement quantity for your package size.

Aquarium Soil for Aquatic Plants and Livestock

ADA Amazonia Soil V2 is intended for planted aquariums, but adding soil does not remove the need for proper aquarium management. Nutrient-rich substrates can affect water conditions during the initial setup period. Monitor ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, and other relevant parameters, especially before introducing fish or shrimp.

Allow the aquarium to cycle properly and confirm that water conditions are appropriate for your intended livestock. Avoid adding extra fertilizers or supplements without considering the nutrients already supplied by the soil and the needs of your plants.

Is ADA Amazonia Soil V2 Right for Your Aquarium?

This substrate is a suitable option to consider if you are planning a planted freshwater aquarium or a detailed Nature Aquarium layout. It may be particularly useful when your design includes rooted aquatic plants and a natural dark substrate.

Before ordering, check the available product variant. Standard Amazonia Ver.2 and Powder Type differ in grain size and intended use; ADA states that the Powder Type is designed for smaller aquariums or as a thin top layer and does not include Amazonia Supplement.

Choose your quantity based on the tank dimensions and intended substrate depth. For the best results, follow the supplied instructions, monitor water conditions, and maintain consistent aquarium care. Buy from Bubble Nest after confirming the available size and package contents for your setup.
